Medicine ball
A weighted ball, often rubber or leather, used for slams, throws and rotational core work adapted for solo apartment training.
A medicine ball is a weighted ball used for throws, slams, and rotational core exercises, and it comes in two behaviors worth knowing apart: slam balls, which are filled to absorb impact and not bounce back when dropped, and bouncing wall-ball style medicine balls, built to rebound off a wall or the floor.
For solo apartment training, a single ball covers rotational throws, sit-up passes against a wall, and core circuits without needing a partner or a rack, though the choice between a slamming ball and a bouncing one changes what is actually safe to do with it indoors.
When buying, check specifically whether the ball is rated for slamming or for bouncing, since using a bouncing wall ball for slam work sends it rebounding unpredictably, and using a no-bounce slam ball against a wall simply thuds without the catch-and-throw rhythm wall-ball drills expect. A common mistake is buying a bouncy ball and slamming it on a hard apartment floor, risking both floor damage and an unexpected bounce back at you.
